Colorado Springs is located at the foot of Pike's Peak, and the landscape is so amazing that it actually inspired the writing of "America the Beautiful." Colorado Springs is full of history with lots of museums and attractions based on its pioneer heritage. It is located in the middle of some of the most beautiful land in America, and this is what really draws so many visitors to the city each year. Pike's Peak towers some 11,000 feet above sea level, and from its summit visitors can see all the way into the Great Plains.
